Pfc. Gary Morris was fired on Friday March 23rd as Lt. Dan Martin takes the next logical step in setting up his dream department.
This move has been anticipated by many for weeks as Morris was the last officer on the department who refused to party with Lt. Martin after hours. Long time party pal Harry German also received a promotion to Corporal. This comes as no surprise as Martin has always showed bias in German's case. Martin used to wait until German was working day shift and come out and run hand held laser just for him so that he could have the highest ticket count in order to show that he was indeed the ideal officer for future promotion.
While German has complained about Martin behind the scenes for months and the constant phone calls, his actions spoke clearer than any of his false words.
Is this what it takes to become recognized in Martin's regime?
If so, citizens beware! You may be stopped by ticket hungry, hungover, automatons, who have no loyalty to anything but their bottom line.
Morris was fired on "suspicion" that he was leaking information to this web site.
Odd considering that Cpl. Pollen was involved in a high level investigation where multiple victims were interviewed or polygraphed but was given a chance to resign and Morris was fired without witness(es) or evidence.

The saddest part of this is that in actuality it was "Dan's Boys" that leaked the information to POP-50 who then in turn posted a comment on the site about it. I do applaud POP-50 though, because it sorely needed to be said and he was the only one who stepped up and brought it out. Word on the street has it that Dan had a couple of written statements against Morris. Hmmm. Wonder who those statements could've possibly been written by....Perhaps the two officers who actually leaked the info? Those guys need not worry, though, since they are "Dan fans". The administrator is correct in saying that this move has been planned for weeks because one of the newer officers was recently given a lower call number than Morris which, as any cop will tell you, is essentially a form of promotion. This is the same officer who recently left a felony crime scene unsecured for an entire night, but that was at the sergeant's orders from what I hear. Morris was the final one that Dan wanted to get rid of, so now he's gonna have his cake and eat it too. Hope he doesn't choke on it! LOL
well, we suspected it was coming, and it did, the hope that the new cheif coming soon is a dream.....there's still hope that the person that replaces hubbard will be intelligent enough to be appalled at what has gone and and do his own 'housecleaning'. But then it's all for naught....so many great officers (who, by the way, actually knew and protected the citizens) are gone. This site has been a good outlet for frustrations, but really nothing has been done....dan is the 'king', and his princes are patroling (ha!!!) the streets. How much more until his grave is dug?
The new chief will be nothing more than a "yes man" approved by Shane and Shane only. HE will then be used to get rid of the lieutenant and probably a couple more of the remaining officers who have knowledge of all the crap that has gone on over the last year or so. That way Shane can keep the blood off of his hands and lay the blame at someone else's feet as he always does.
What amazes me is the arrogance shown by the city in doing exactly what they want without due process. How can an officer like Gary Morris be forced out without any proof whatsoever of any information being given out to anyone? Could it be Shane's captured on tape paranoia about officers talking to others about city issues? I would imagine that all Dan would have to do is report to Shane that there is RUMOR of Officer Morris discussing this to someone, and shane's response would be "Get rid of him by the end of the day!" Good job, Dan. Way to play the game. Just out of curiosity, what will you do now if you need an officer, since you just got rid of the last one with any training and experience? People of Hardeeville, you now have only 5 certified officers patrolling your city, two of which are Dan and Sgt. Middleton, and one that has just started working there. I would be a little concerned if I were you. Your "Intern Chief" is getting rid of his opposers regardless of the cost to the city to make his few remaining weeks as acting chief easier for himself AT YOUR EXPENSE!!!!
Come on now. Dan didn't have any idea of what was going on. He's been busy at a diving school in Florida with his hunting buddy for the last few days, (on the taxpayers' dime), so this MUST be someone else's fault. At last they'll have someone qualified to handle all those unsolved underwater crimes in hardeeville.

I really don't think many people expected anything at all to be done when this site started and, without a doubt, nothing will be done in the future. But in MY opinion the most important thing that this site HAS accomplished is that hundreds or even thousands of people now know what kind of people Shane, Dan and all the council members really are. Even if this site dies off soon, the results will be felt heavily come election time.

That's an excellent point Wiley. I think pretty much all of them can see their demise is just around the corner. Shane will probably be busy finding new ways to line his pockets quickly before he's forced out.
Miss Jackson made a good point about the lieutenant promoting one officer with WAY less experience over Morris. The thing that really interests me about that whole thing is the fact that the officer that received the promotion is supposedly the same one who is allowing the lieutenant to use his address to falsify SLED and DMV documents in order to make it appear that he lives in South Carolina. That "promotion" sounds more like a payoff to me. It's most certainly a conflict of interest if nothing else.
This message is intended for Officer Morris, in regards to your brother in law, Councilman Bill Horton. I understand that on the day you were terminated you spoke with your brother-in-law and he told you he had no idea you were going to be terminated. While at the same time he has told other citizens in town that he was okay with you being terminated, and that it had to happen. X-Officer Morris, were you being lied to by your brother-in-law, or just another member of City Council?
Councilman Horton, if you were willing to take Shane Haynes' and the backstabber Dan Martin's word without giving X-Officer Morris due process, this shows that you are no better than the rest of the Council or Shane Haynes.
Gary, it's a good thing that your wife is a trauma nurse, so she can take the knife out of your back and give it back to her brother at the next family function.
